I have nothing against marketing, in fact I am a marketing student so I love marketing. But, let me share with you that it is a very powerful tool. It shapes the mind of the person reading it.

Think about it. How do you justify that one brand is better than the other? Do you really have time to pour through all the reviews and ratings?

Take automatic coffee makers as example. You can count the brands that it is in your mind. Why is that so? Well, mainly it is because these are the brands that have communicated enough and you remember them.

Brands that are not active in their marketing, loses market share, simple as that. Now the question you are probably going to ask is, if the perception given by the company real,i.e. it is a good coffee maker that i have purchased.

It has to be good. Firstly, after spending so much money on a promotion, they would not want to spoil it with a lousy product. Secondly, it is not ethical to be mis-representing their brands, they would be taken to task by authorities if they promised something and do not deliver...
